Indigenous Front surrounds the District Administration Office

The surrounding program, proclaimed by Indigenous People's Widespread Front has successfully ended on Thursday in front of District Administration Office, Kathmandu. The strike has continued from 12 noon to 1 pm. More than five hundreds representatives from different organization of indigenous communities, indigenous peoples organizations, sister organizations of major political parties, indigenous peoples based political parties of the country had participated in the strike.
The general secretary of Nepa: National Party Mr. Bijay Saiju claimed that the government hasn't taken the indigenous issues seriously. Advisor of NIWF Ms. Bam Kumari Budhamagar, secretariat member Mr. Chandranarayan Tharu and spokesperson Mr. Rabindra Thing of Federal Democratic National Forum had also said that the motive of this strike was to pressure the government for pass and implementation the action plan of ILO Convention no.169. "We will continue our next movement from both the house of parliament and street if the government doesn't address our demand" said Ms. Rupa Chaudhary, member of Constitutional Assembly.
With the slogan of constitutional guarantee for federalism, republic democracy, right to self-determination, ethnic autonomy and individual and collective rights, the participants had accomplished with huge gathering. The acting secretary of this front Mr. Suresh Ale Magar had ended the program by requesting all to be active for the upcoming Nepal Banda of Jan 1.
