Government declares Phalgunanda as National Hero

Nepal government has declared the Kirat social reformer great guru Phalgunanda Lingden as a national hero. Kirat community had demanded to the government for the recognition and respect of Phalgunanda's contribution declaring him as national hero form long time. Phalgunanda has now become the 17th national hero declared by Nepal government.

Janak, Sita, Ansubarma, Ram Shaha, Prithivi Narayan Shaha, Bhimsen Thapa, Amar Sing Thapa, Balabhadra Kunwar, Bhakti Thapa, Tribhuwan, Arniko, Motiram Bhatta, Bhanubhakta Aacharya, Goutam Buddha, Sankhadhar Sakhwa and Pasang Lhamu Sherpa are the national heros declared earlier by the government respectively.

Social reformer great guru Phalgunanda was born in 1942 Kartik 25 B.S. at Chukchinamba, Charkhol, Ilam and died in 2005 Chaitra 22 B.S.
