Sanjuhang's Council Joined United Limbuwan Front, Nepal.
Birtamod, Jhapa. Federal Limbuwan State Council led by Mr. Sanjuhang Palungwa has formally joined the United Limbuwan Front; Nepal in the latter's meeting held in December 8-9, 2009 at Jhapa Chumlung Him, Charpane, Birtamode, Jhapa. The Front's meeting had also reviewed its first and second stage movement launched earlier to pressurize political parties and government on the issue of establishing Limbuwan autonomy under the Federal Democratic Republic Nepal.
In a press statement issued by the Front, the Front has made a decision to institutionalize the achievements emanating from the past movements. It also outlines some programs in relation to federalism and autonomy to be organized in Limbuwan. According to press release, the Front will organize demonstration and corner meeting along the highway from Kakandbhitta to Itahari-Inarwa in Limbuwan for 3 hours in January 6, 2009. After the program, the Front has scheduled to organize mass meetings at Chandragadi of Jhapa district, Urlabari of Morang district, Itahari of Sunsari district, Dhankuta Bazzar of Dhankuta district and Khandbari of Sankhuwasabha district from January 8-13, 2010. Interaction programs will be organized with the participation of indigenous peoples and non-indigenous peoples of Limbuwan in order to seek support from them for the proposed Limbuwan autonomy. Further, it is stated in the press release that the Front will organize Mega Political Conference with the participation of all indigenous peoples and non-indigenous peoples of Limbuwan region to build consensus among them on the issue of Limbuwan autonomy in Dharan, Sunsari.
